Border Dispute Resolved: Leaders of Kajo-Keji and Moyo Unite at Abaya Village

The Commissioner of Kajo-Keji County, David Lisi Christopher, and the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Moyo district have successfully resolved border tensions at Abaya village of Kangapo 2 Payam. The meeting aimed to find lasting solutions to the conflict affecting both communities.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence between Moyo and Kajo-Keji, acknowledging that the ultimate resolution of international border issues lies in the hands of the presidents of Uganda and South Sudan. They highlighted the agreed border demarcation set for 2027 and urged their communities to live harmoniously.

RDC Gore Goffin commended Hon. Commissioner Lisi for entrusting him with this responsibility and expressed gratitude for the fruitful dialogue that led to amicable solutions. He emphasized the desire for peace among the people of Uganda, particularly the Ma’di community, emphasizing the need for peaceful coexistence.

The leaders agreed to collaborate closely to prevent further escalations, leading to the immediate withdrawal of UPDF forces to restore calm and enable citizens to resume their farming activities.
