Governor Jadalla Receives Partial Briefing on Wonduruba Killings from Investigation Committee
H.E. Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, Governor of Central Equatoria State, received a partial briefing on the alarming killings that occurred in Wonduruba Administrative Payam and Jebel Iraq in October, during a meeting with the State Investigation Committee on Wednesday.
The Governor praised the Committee for their diligent work in addressing the recent violence, which resulted in the tragic deaths of over a dozen civilians.
Speaking to the press following the meeting, Hon. Mawa A. Moses, the Spokesperson for the Committee, described the discussions with Governor Jadalla as productive and confirmed the Committee’s successful mission in Wonduruba and Jebel Iraq. He reassured the public that the Committee is steadfast in fulfilling its mandate.
“Our team provided a partial briefing to His Excellency Gen. Augustino Jadalla regarding our initial findings. We have gathered primary information and completed our investigation in Wonduruba and Jebel Iraq, and work will continue on the remaining inquiries,” stated Hon. Moses.
The formation of the State Investigation Committee came last month in direct response to the killings, and it is led by Hon. Angelo Daya, the State Advisor for Peace and Security. The Committee’s primary objective is to uncover the facts surrounding the brutal killings and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
As the investigation progresses, the residents of Central Equatoria State remain hopeful for accountability and justice following this tragic incident.
