Following Achai Wiir’s arrest, the NSS continued its active search for other individuals involved in the suspected crime. On Saturday, February 3rd, four additional suspects were confirmed arrested, including Sora Jima in Juba and Achol Alor Kuol, Nyaliet Awet Alor, and Hellen Sheena in Tonj. These arrests took place after the suspects went live on Facebook, drawing attention to their alleged involvement in the Mombasa saga.
The “Big Girls” group in Juba, led and supported by renowned businesswoman Achai Wiir, has been at the center of this controversy. The saga between Achai Wiir and Sora Jima has not only divided opinions but also exposed vulnerabilities within the South Sudanese system. This has prompted calls for authorities to address these issues and ensure that justice is served.
The security organ, as one of the pillars of the government, is entrusted with protecting President Kiir from witchcraft allegations and safeguarding the nation as a whole.
The news of the arrests of the four suspected ladies has sparked a wave of appreciation for the security organ in the country. Many South Sudanese have taken to social media to express their support and commend the authorities for a job well done. However, it is crucial to remember that justice must prevail for all parties involved.
Before the arrest of Achai Wiir and her colleagues, South Sudanese had been voicing their concerns about the authorities’ silence on witchcraft allegations. This case has highlighted the need for a thorough investigation and a transparent judicial process to address these concerns.
Last month, the National Security Service (NSS) successfully apprehended Achai Wiir after her father’s plea for help from Vice President Abdelbagi fell on deaf ears.
The nation’s citizens deserve a fair and impartial investigation, free from any ethnic or political influences. Only then can the trust in the National Security Services be restored, and the integrity of the system be upheld.
