South Sudan Civil Society Alliance Urges Implementation of Judicial Reforms for Lasting Peace

Juba – The South Sudan Civil Society Alliance, under the leadership of Acting Chairperson Dabek Mabior Arok, has commended the recent report and recommendations put forth by the Judicial Reforms Committee (JRC), deeming it a crucial stride towards achieving stability and lasting peace in the nation.

In a statement released on Thursday, Arok emphasized the significance of the JRC’s findings, calling for the immediate establishment of an independent, impartial, and credible Court of Justice. “These reforms are essential for the development of our judicial system and the rule of law in South Sudan,” he stated.

The Civil Society Alliance urged the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGoUN) to take decisive action and ensure the prompt implementation of the JRC’s recommendations. “The development and reform of our judiciary system is not merely a recommendation—it is a necessity to pave the way for a just and peaceful society,” Arok added.

As South Sudan continues to grapple with the challenges of governance and justice, the Civil Society Alliance’s call for reform echoes the voices of many citizens yearning for a legal framework that guarantees fairness and accountability. The alliance’s advocacy serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to foster a stable and just nation.

The call to action from the South Sudan Civil Society Alliance aligns with ongoing efforts to solidify peace in a country that has faced years of conflict. With the successful implementation of judicial reforms, stakeholders hope to see a renewed trust in the legal system and a genuine commitment to uphold the rule of law.
