In a generous act of support, Hon Africano Mande Gedima, the Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority and patron of the Africano Mande Foundation, has donated a whopping 4,000,000 SSP to aid St Mary FC of Yambio and Nasiry United FC of Maridi.
The donation comes just in time as the two teams prepare to represent the Yambio Local Football Association in the highly anticipated South Sudan National Cup in Juba.
Mr Joseph Ndepi, the president of the Yambio Local Football Association, expressed his gratitude as his office received the cash. He revealed that Nasiry United FC will receive 2,000,000 SSP, while St Mary FC Yambio will also receive the same amount. With the funds secured, the two football clubs are now ready to embark on their journey to Juba.
This is not the first time Hon Africano Mande Gedima has shown his support for the local football community. During last year’s Yambio Inter Area Tournament, he generously donated 2,000,000 SSP, which was distributed among the top three residential areas, namely Akorogbodi, Napere, and Ikpiro.
The purpose of these donations is to provide financial assistance to the two clubs during their stay in Juba and to ensure that their moments in the tournament are facilitated.
Hon Africano Mande Gedima has been actively involved in promoting sports in the region, as evidenced by his recent launch of a sports complex in Muku, Maridi County, through his foundation, Africano Mande Foundation. Additionally, the foundation has also donated football equipment to eight male and female teams.
The news of this significant donation has brought great excitement and gratitude among the football community in Yambio and Maridi. With Hon Africano Mande Gedima’s support, St Mary FC and Nasiry United FC are now better equipped to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level in the South Sudan National Cup.
