Youthful and Inspiring Candidate Aims to Shake Up Politics, Running for MP Position

In an exclusive interview with Alhuriya, Mr. Joseph Arkangelo Apai declared his commitment to run for the position of Member of Parliament in the assembly, representing the people of Nzara county of Western Equatoria State in South Sudan.

“I declare that I intend to be a candidate for MP representing Nzara county on the 2024 general election ballots in the state of Western Equatoria State,” stated Mr. Apai.

Mr. Apai highlighted his experience in government and sports administration as qualifications for the position.

“In 2012, I worked with the state government at state secretariat Yambio as Senior IT. I also worked with Yambio local Football Association (YLFA) as the Secretary General. Additionally, I served as the Deputy Secretary of South Sudan Football Association (SSFA). With this experience, I believe I am fit enough for this position as MP.”

When asked about his reasons for contesting the position, Mr. Apai expressed concern for the suffering of the Nzara people. 

“The voice of Nzara is genuine, and I want to raise their concerns. Nzara is one of the counties that is famous within the East African Community and outside. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are vital, and it’s important to collaborate with others.”

Mr. Apai emphasized his priority for agriculture and his commitment to working with those involved in the industry.

“I know many people in South Sudan, and agriculture is my first priority. If I win as the aspiring candidate, I will advocate for education, development, agriculture, and the well-being of our people. I will also work with national and international companies to establish industries and secondary schools and universities.”

With his believe strong qualifications and dedication to serving the people of Nzara county, voters will have the opportunity to determine the opportunities for this inspiring candidate.
