Juba – The Governor of Central Equatoria State (CES), Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has presented Mr. Bush Buse with a certificate of recognition for his significant influence and contribution towards development, youth empowerment, and peacebuilding in the state. This recognition comes as a reflection of the remarkable work that Buse has undertaken to bring about positive change in the lives of young people.

Bush Buse, a prominent Civil Society Activist and program coordinator at the Whitaker Peace and Development Initiative, has been instrumental in fostering youth engagement and social transformation through his youth initiative called Take Tea Together (TTT). TTT aims to provide young individuals from diverse backgrounds with the opportunity to voice their opinions, create space for dialogue, and develop the skills needed to influence positive change.

Buse’s involvement in various peacebuilding platforms and networks has further solidified his reputation as a dedicated advocate for peace in South Sudan.

In 2014, he actively participated in the National Youth Dialogue Platform and the Horn of Africa Leadership and Learning for Action (HOLLA). His contributions to these initiatives included the development of a youth position paper, which was presented to IGAD and other stakeholders involved in the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan.

Furthermore, Buse, alongside two other South Sudanese individuals, Dr. Kuyang and Adhieu Ngoth, represented their country in a seminar organized by Chr. Michelson Institute (CMI) in Bergen, Norway, in 2019. Under the theme “South Sudan and the Way Forward,” they delivered a thought-provoking presentation that highlighted the challenges and potential solutions for South Sudan’s future. This seminar is known for inviting promising leaders, including the late Dr. John Garang de Mabior, to share their insights.

Buse holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with first-class honors from Kampala University in Uganda. He also obtained a master’s degree in peace and development studies from the University of Juba. Throughout his academic journey, he has consistently demonstrated his passion for youth affairs and his commitment to positively impacting the lives of young people.

Governor Adil Anthony’s recognition of Mr. Bush Buse signifies the state government’s appreciation for individuals who go above and beyond to create a better future for the youth of CES. Buse’s remarkable achievements serve as an inspiration for other young leaders, reinforcing the importance of their active involvement in shaping the state’s development and fostering peace.

CES citizens extend their congratulations to Mr. Bush Buse for this well-deserved recognition, and they look forward to witnessing his continued efforts in driving positive change within the state.
