CES Security Committee Confirms SSPDF Control Over Panyume Following SPLA/IO Attack

The Central Equatoria State Security Committee (CES-SC) has confirmed that the South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) has restored control over Panyume in Morobo County after a morning attack by SPLA/IO forces. This announcement came during a routine security meeting chaired by Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, who urged calm as the situation is being contained.
”The SSPDF has successfully regained control, and we assure the public that the situation is under control,” Governor Anthony stated during the meeting.
Among the resolutions made were the removal of illegal checkpoints, enhanced monitoring of cattle herders to prevent farmer-herder conflicts, and increased efforts to combat gang activity in major cities, including Juba and Yei River Counties.
In an effort to standardize Juba City, officials have directed the Mayor of Juba City Council and the Commissioner of Juba County to reorganize markets, clear roads, and continue cleaning campaigns to modernize the city to meet international standards. The Commissioner and the State Ministry of Housing, Land, and Public Utilities have also been tasked with implementing measures to return land to rightful owners, addressing ongoing concerns of land grabbing.
The meeting concluded with a strong appeal to the public to ignore misinformation spread by anti-peace elements. “We urge everyone to remain calm and continue their normal activities,” the committee emphasized.
”We are in this together, and peace is our shared responsibility,” Governor Anthony added, reinforcing the importance of unity and resilience among the community.
