Five Abducted Kids Returned To Central Equatoria Government
Five abducted children have been returned to the Central Equatoria State government, with the Greater Pibor Administrative Area successfully handing over more than 16 abducted children to their respective areas of origin since the beginning of the year.
Deputy Administrator John Joseph Abbulla shared this information during the handover of the five children on Friday, including one child from Eastern Equatoria. Abbulla highlighted the challenging nature of recovering children from abductors who often operate in organized groups.
The Greater Pibor government has launched a campaign to combat child abductors in the area, with Abbulla calling for collaborative efforts to tackle criminal activities and requesting additional security forces to aid in rescuing abducted children.
Central Equatoria State Deputy Governor Sarah Nene confirmed that an abductor has been arrested and is currently in police custody. Nene assured continued efforts to arrest criminals involved in child abduction as part of ongoing law enforcement initiatives within the region.
