In his speech, Governor Jadalla urged the Bari Community and the people of Central Equatoria State to foster peace, love, and unity, highlighting that true unity requires actions that stem from the heart. He stressed that unity is pivotal in addressing challenges like land grabbing within the State.
Hon. Emmanuel Tete Ezbon, the Commissioner of Juba County, echoed the sentiment and called for collective support from the people of the State in assisting Governor Jadalla in tackling various issues afflicting Central Equatoria State.
The event, celebrated under the theme “Love and Respect for One Another is a Strength of Bari,” is an annual tradition observed on the 8th of July, right before South Sudan’s independence day. It honors the memory of Jubek, the founding father of Juba.
Jubek Day brings together members of the Bari Community, including youth, women, elders, chiefs, intellectuals, and government officials from both the State and national levels. The occasion serves as a platform to reinforce cohesion and unity among the community while celebrating and reflecting on their rich cultural heritage.
The commemoration of Jubek Day this year was marked by Governor Jadalla’s call for unity, underscoring the importance of coming together to overcome challenges and build a peaceful and prosperous Central Equatoria State.
