In a series of operations which were conducted in various neighborhood in Juba by the South Sudan National Police Service and the SSPDF (South Sudan People’s Defense Forces), in three days, joint operations successfully collected a significant number of fire arms
According to the authorities, the joint operations resulted in the collection of a substantial number of firearms, including assault rifles, handguns, and ammunition. Additionally, several individuals suspected of illegal possession of firearms were apprehended during the operations.
In light of the recent successful operations, the government and its partners reaffirmed their commitment to continuing efforts to collect illegal firearms and combat armed violence in South Sudan.
The goal was to target areas known for high levels of armed violence and criminal activities.
