Juba County Cracks Down on Roadside Businesses for Safety and Cleanliness
In a bid to enhance safety and cleanliness within its jurisdiction, the authority of Juba county has federalized commercial businesses operating on roadside areas. This move comes after concerns were raised about accidents involving vendors and citizens around Kubir Habuba Gudele two, Rejaf Payam.
During the operation, Executive Director of Juba county, Alfati Morgan, emphasized the importance of avoiding roadside selling to prevent potential accidents. Vendors were encouraged to find suitable spaces in established markets around Juba to conduct their businesses.
The local order also mandates that vendors selling vegetables and other products maintain cleanliness standards akin to those observed in other countries worldwide. Any individual found selling on the roadside will face legal consequences, warned Director of Public Order, Loro Rafael.
Efforts are underway to strategize market allocations in Juba, and vendors failing to comply with the local order risk having their goods confiscated by Juba county authorities. Some female vendors in various markets under Juba county have expressed the need for designated spaces to sell their products.
The implementation of the local order, scheduled for Tuesday and overseen by Commissioner Hon Emmanuel Tete Ezbon, is part of a broader initiative to regulate commercial activities and ensure the orderly operation of markets. The county authorities emphasize the continuation of this order and call upon local governments across Juba county to enforce similar directives within their respective areas.
