Kuac Ayok Community Leaders and Bahr El-Ghazal Peace Committee Join Forces for Lasting Peace

In a groundbreaking meeting between Kuac Ayok community leaders and the Bahr El-Ghazal Peace and Reconciliation Committee, significant steps were taken towards finding solutions to long-standing issues affecting communities in Warrap State.
Former Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul emphasized the importance of grassroots involvement in resolving conflicts, stating, “It’s time for us to help our president by probing into the roots of the conflicts at the grassroots level and coming up with solutions.”
Maulona Mayen Wol Jong, speaking on behalf of Joseph Lual Achuil, Chairperson of Kuac Ayok Community, expressed their commitment to peace and reconciliation, stating, “We are dedicated to building our home peacefully.”
Ustaz Mayen Mayen Joongkor, reading a statement on behalf of the chairperson, commended President Salva Kiir Mayardit for his efforts in promoting peace across the country and particularly in Greater Bahr El Ghazal. The formation of the Greater Bahr El Ghazal Peace and Reconciliation Committee was welcomed by the Kuac Ayok community.
The community leaders also welcomed the appointment of Dr. Riak Gai Kok as the Chairperson of the committee, citing his track record of leadership and equitable distribution of resources during his tenure as Minister of Health. They expressed optimism that Dr. Riak would work tirelessly to bring lasting peace to the region.
Kuac Ayok Community affirmed their belief in peaceful coexistence with neighboring communities and pledged to work closely with the Peace Committee to address concerns and rectify any past injustices inflicted by the Warrap State government.
In conclusion, the leaders urged Dr. Riak Gai Kok to apply wisdom and good governance practices in finding sustainable solutions to the longstanding conflicts plaguing the region.
