MTN South Sudan Empowers St. Paul Adult and Primary School for a Brighter Future

In a heartwarming display of social responsibility, MTN South Sudan has officially handed over four newly constructed classrooms to St. Paul Adult and Primary School in Nyakuron south suburbs area in Juba. This generous contribution aims to provide a conducive learning environment for the pupils of Nyakuron south suburbs, fostering a brighter future for South Sudan’s youth.

The Ambassador of South Africa, His Excellency Mahlodi Muofhe, commended MTN for their dedication to social responsibility and commitment to the education sector in South Sudan. He emphasized the importance of education in nation-building and urged parents to prioritize sending their children to school for a better future.

MTN CEO, Monzer Ali, reiterated the company’s ongoing support for educational institutions in the country, emphasizing that education is the foundation of a nation. The head teacher of St. Paul Nyakuron south, Thomas Baxter Eliaba, encouraged the pupils to seize the opportunity for education as a crucial step towards national development.

The handover ceremony, attended by representatives from the state and national ministries of general education, showcased the collaborative efforts to enhance the education sector in the country through MTN South Sudan’s support. In addition to the classroom donation, MTN also provided essential school materials to 290 pupils, including sanitary pads, handwashing facilities, footballs, school books, bags, and pencils.

The total investment in this initiative amounts to $27,000, inclusive of the construction of a security fence around the school premises to ensure the safety of the students. This event marks the successful completion of MTN South Sudan’s Yello Care initiative, empowering St. Paul Adult and Primary School with the resources needed to thrive in their educational journey.
