National Minister of Roads and Bridges Inspects Reconstruction of Kuyango Bridge in South Sudan’s Western Equatoria State
The National Minister of Road and Bridge, Simon Majok Majak, made a significant visit to Western Equatoria State in South Sudan this week to inspect the construction progress of the Kuyango Bridge. The bridge, located in Ibba County along the Yambio Juba Road, had been badly damaged by heavy rains in December last year.
With collaborative efforts from the state government, support from the National government, and contributions from traders in Western Equatoria State, funds were raised for the reconstruction of the crucial Kuyango Bridge. While the exact cost of the construction remains undisclosed, the initiative stands as a testament to the importance of infrastructure development in the region.
During his visit to Yambio, Minister Simon Majok Majak expressed his dedication to not only inspecting the road connecting the state to the capital city of Juba but also overseeing the rebuilding of the Kuyango Bridge. He emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and ensuring essential infrastructure projects are completed in a timely manner.
Governor of Western Equatoria State, Gen. Alfred Futuyo Karaba, warmly welcomed the Minister on his inaugural visit to the state. Governor Karaba pledged full cooperation and collaboration with the Minister to ensure the successful completion of the road reconstruction and the Kuyango Bridge project.
The minister’s visit underscores the government’s focus on infrastructure development and highlights the importance of intergovernmental partnerships in propelling progress and enhancing connectivity for the benefit of all residents in South Sudan.
