Ngunkata Pharmaceutical Limited proudly hosted its second annual Thanksgiving ceremony in celebration of the successful operation of its maternity ward. The event attracted government officials, church leaders, community representatives, family members, friends, and well-wishers, creating a lively atmosphere at the clinic’s premises.

Hon. James Abdullah, the Western Equatoria State Minister of Health, presided over the event and expressed gratitude to Governor Lt. Gen. Alfred Futuyo Karaba for maintaining peace and stability, which he credited for progress in the health sector.

In his address, Hon. Abdullah urged Ngunkata’s administration to strengthen its partnership with the state hospital to enhance healthcare delivery. He emphasized that the priority should be saving lives and providing quality health services to the population, rather than focusing solely on financial gains.

“The management is challenged to embrace a mission-driven approach,” Hon. Abdullah stated.

He also raised concerns about ethical issues in patient care, urging midwives to adopt a supportive attitude toward mothers, especially those facing hygiene challenges. “The practice of insulting mothers over poor hygiene must stop. As professionals, you are trained to promote sanitation and offer guidance, not criticism,” he asserted, advocating for compassion and professionalism in healthcare.

The Thanksgiving ceremony concluded with applause for Ngunkata’s leadership and a renewed commitment from the community to support the facility’s growth.

Established in Maridi County in 2004, Ngunkata Pharmaceutical Limited expanded its operations to Yambio in 2013. In 2019, it transitioned into a full-fledged pharmaceutical company, providing essential health services to residents within and beyond the state. Its maternity ward has become a cornerstone of community health, further solidifying its role in Western Equatoria’s healthcare landscape.
