Raja County Conference Ends with Pledges for Reconciliation and Development

The second Raja County Peace and Development Conference concluded on Sunday after four days of discussions aimed at fostering reconciliation and committing to future development within the community.
The conference brought together diverse voices from Raja County, culminating in a strong message of unity and cooperation among its residents.
”We are committed to supporting all parties and communities here in Raja to promote reconciliation, unity, and development,” stated Nafisa Abdelmajid, the county women’s representative.
Stephen Robo Musa, Chairperson of the conference organizing committee, expressed his appreciation for the contributions that made the conference successful. “The participation was effective. I encourage all sons and daughters of Raja to unite, reconcile, and support our region,” he said.
Commissioner Adison Arkangelo Musa called for collaborative efforts among all people of Raja, both within the county and those in the diaspora.
”Let us work together to implement the outcomes of this conference and resolve our differences for the benefit of our county,” he urged.
Zakaria Joseph Garang, Deputy Governor of Western Bahr el Ghazal State and the Governor’s representative, highlighted the importance of sharing the conference’s recommendations with government bodies. “We must deliberate on these resolutions to advance the development of both the county and the state,” he emphasized.
The guest of honor, National Minister of Transport Rizik Zakaria Hassan, appealed to the people of Raja to cultivate a spirit of tolerance among themselves and to utilize the documents discussed during the conference. “I assure you of my full support for implementing the outcomes of this conference to the best of my ability,” he added.
The conference concluded with several key recommendations, including collaboration with the University of Bahr el Ghazal in various scientific fields, improving and connecting roads between Wau, Raja, and its Payams, enhancing relations with neighboring Wau County, and organizing a dedicated mining conference. These resolutions aim to drive the development of Raja County forward.
