In a significant development for the long-neglected Luri Rokwe Residential Area in Juba County, more than 220 students are now reaping the benefits of the School Feeding Program. Speaking on Parents’ Day, John Manoa Tomba expressed his gratitude for this initiative, highlighting the severe lack of schools in the area and the unprecedented opportunity it presents for children to receive a quality education.

“We are extremely grateful for the School Feeding Program, as it has provided our children with the opportunity to receive a quality education that was previously inaccessible to them,” said John, a resident of the Luri Rokwe Residential Area.

“It is heartening to see initiatives like these that prioritize the education of children in neglected areas,” Tomba added.

Tomba shed light on the challenges faced by parents in the community, particularly those living with leprosy, who struggle to afford basic necessities.

“Parents in our community, especially those living with leprosy, face immense challenges in providing for their children’s basic needs. This program has alleviated some of that burden.”

Zamzam Sitmah, a representative from Trinity Energy Ltd, emphasized the importance of school feeding programs in promoting education and reducing absenteeism.

“By ensuring children are well-fed, these programs contribute to their overall learning experience and cognitive development,” Sitmah said.

“Trinity Energy Ltd is proud to support the Holy Mary Nursery and Primary School through our CSR initiatives, as we believe that education is the key to a brighter future for Africa.”

Elia Yugu Tombe, the founder and head teacher of the Holy Mary Nursery and Primary School, expressed gratitude for the School Feeding Program.

“We currently face challenges such as a shortage of teachers and classrooms,” Tombe said.

“We call upon developmental partners, companies, and the government to join Trinity Energy Ltd in supporting our school and ensuring that every child in our community has access to education.”

The Holy Mary Nursery and Primary School was established by Elia Yugu Tombe several years ago to address the lack of educational opportunities in the Luri Rokwe Residential Area.

The school continues to play a vital role in providing education to the community, accommodating over 220 students from the area.
