South Sudan Civil Society Alliance Welcomes Extended Period for Peace Agreement Implementation

The South Sudan Civil Society Alliance (SSCSA) has officially welcomed the recently announced extension period that commences this weekend, expressing hope that the government will allocate the necessary resources for the effective implementation of the peace agreement.
In a statement issued by Deputy Chairperson Dabek Mabior Arok, the SSCSA emphasized the urgency of the situation and called on all parties involved to adhere to a clear timetable for the execution of critical provisions, particularly regarding the unification of forces and constitutional reforms.
“We are optimistic about this extended period, and we urge the government to prioritize the allocation of resources necessary for the peace agreement’s implementation,” Arok stated. “The parties must commit to a structured timetable to ensure that we can move forward effectively.”
Arok further highlighted the importance of unity among the various factions within the country, saying, “The unification of forces and the establishment of a functional constitution are essential steps towards fostering a stable and peaceful South Sudan. We cannot afford to delay any further.”
The call for collaboration comes as the nation seeks to navigate through its complex political landscape, ensuring that all stakeholders work together towards a common goal: lasting peace and stability for the citizens of South Sudan.
As the new period begins, all eyes will be on the government and political leaders to see if they respond proactively to the SSCSA’s call for timely action and resource allocation.
