Unsubstantiated Claims Prompt Strong Response from NAS Revolutionary Command Council
In response to a recent statement issued by a spokesperson claiming affiliation with Gen. Thomas Cirilo, the NAS-Revolutionary Command Council (NAS-RCC) has vehemently rejected and condemned the remarks as irresponsible and dangerous propaganda.
Dated 25th February 2024, the said statement was characterized as baseless and reckless by the NAS-RCC, which sought to distance itself from the claims. The NAS-RCC decried the lack of regard for peace and safety displayed in the statement, highlighting that such behavior is typically associated with terrorist groups rather than revolutionary forces.
The NAS-RCC emphasized its adherence to the cessation of hostilities agreements signed in Addis Ababa 2017 and Rome 2020, asserting its commitment to peaceful resolution through negotiations and self-defense measures only.
Furthermore, the NAS-RCC categorically refuted any involvement in the alleged incident, reaffirming its defensive stance and commitment to ensuring the safety of innocent civilians in the vicinity of the reported explosion.
In a separate development, the NAS-RCC welcomed NAS reformists under the leadership of Moulona Anthony William, extending congratulations and expressing eagerness to collaborate towards achieving sustainable peace in South Sudan.
Col. Ladu Stephen Lukaja, Acting Chairperson of the Committee for Information, Publicity, and Public Relations for the NAS Revolutionary Command Council, reiterated these positions on behalf of the organization.
