Urgent Call for Continuation of Operations: Partners Encouraged to Persist Amidst Abductions in Yei

The Commissioner of Yei River County spearheaded a crucial two-hour meeting with various International Non-Governmental Organization Partners currently operational within Yei River County. The primary objective of the meeting was to gain insight into the challenges faced by these partners while carrying out their vital operations across the five Payams of Yei.

Distinguished officials from prominent organizations such as ICRC, MASS, UNMISS, UNOPS, SSRC, Women for Women, SSUHA, ACROSS, Plan International, World Health Organization (WHO), and Islamic Relief were in attendance at the meeting.

Following the deliberations, Commissioner of Yei River County, Honorable Emmanuel Taban Seme, addressed the press and issued a resolute call to the partners operating within the Yei River. He urged them to persist in their daily duties despite the distressing trend of abductions targeting individuals involved in humanitarian work along the Yei-Maridi Road and other areas within Yei.

Commissioner Seme emphasized the necessity of concerted efforts towards seeking peaceful resolutions to the ongoing security challenges plaguing the region. He implored both International and National NGOs to unite as a cohesive team in confronting these obstacles and continuing their operations to deliver essential services to the communities in need.
