Government Initiates Measures to Tackle Cattle Challenges in Greater Mundri

In a bid to address the ongoing cattle issues in Greater Mundri, the government of Western Equatoria State has announced a series of resolutions following a meeting held on Monday, March 11, 2024.

These decisions were made after Governor Alfred Fututo Karaba engaged in extensive discussions with community leaders, Commissioners, Members of Parliament, and organized forces from the area.

The key resolutions are as follows:

Bor Cattle must be returned to their place of origin in Jongle State.

Mobile forces will be deployed to remove the cattle from Greater Mundri.

The Commissioners of Mundri East, Mundri West, and Mvolo counties, along with state authorities, are tasked with mobilizing resources to support the implementation of this mission.

A two-week timeframe has been set for the above exercise, commencing from the date of the resolution on March 11, 2024.

These measures aim to address the longstanding cattle-related challenges in Greater Mundri and ensure the peaceful coexistence of communities in the region.

Governor Karaba emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among various stakeholders to effectively execute these resolutions for the benefit of all involved.
