South Sudan Football President Meets Governor to Boost Sports Development in Western Equatoria State

In a promising move towards advancing the development of football in the region, the President of the South Sudan Football Association, General Agustino, convened a significant meeting this morning with the Governor of Western Equatoria State, H.E Lt General Alfred Futuyo Karaba. The focus of their discussions was centered on strategies to enhance football activities within Western Equatoria State.

The high-profile meeting, held at the State House, saw General Agustino expressing his satisfaction with the Western Equatoria State government’s continuous support towards football clubs traveling from the state to engage in national competitions. He emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration between the state government and the SSFA to elevate the standard of football within Western Equatoria State.

In response, HE Lt General Alfred Futuyo Karaba assured the SSFA President of his administration’s unwavering commitment to providing substantial backing to all sports disciplines across the state. Governor Karaba highlighted the initiatives already in place to support sports, citing the construction of shelters at Yambio Freedom Square to ensure football enthusiasts can enjoy games comfortably regardless of weather conditions.

As part of his visit, the SSFA President is scheduled to spend three days in Yambio, where he will engage with various stakeholders, including a meeting with the revered Azande King, His Royal Majesty King Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue.
