South Sudan Civil Society Alliances Encourage Inter-Party Dialogue for Nation-Building
Mr. Debak Mabior Arok, The chairperson of South Sudan Civil Society Alliances, urged all parties involved in the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) to seize the opportunity presented by inter-party dialogue to address the challenges facing the nation. Emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the interests of the people of South Sudan, he stressed the need for unity and collaboration among the different factions.
“We do not expect outsiders to come and solve our issues. It is time for us, as South Sudanese, to work together towards consensus and find lasting solutions to our problems,” said Debak Mabior.
“This inter-party dialogue should mark the beginning of partnerships and collective efforts towards rebuilding our nation.”
The South Sudan Civil Society Alliances made it clear that they firmly believe in the power of elections as the most effective way to overcome the current challenges and move the nation forward. They called on all well-wishers, individuals, neighboring countries, and the international community to provide support in terms of funding and technological assistance to ensure the successful organization of the first-ever election in South Sudan.
“We stand firm and committed in our position that an election is the only best way to progress as a nation, by overcoming all the challenges that arise,” declared the SSCSA spokesperson.
Expressing appreciation for the support received from the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGoNU), which allocated funding to electoral institutions to operationalize their offices at the state level, the civil society alliances highlighted the importance of continued collaboration and commitment to moving the nation forward.
As South Sudan strives to navigate its path towards peace, stability, and prosperity, the message from the Civil Society Alliances is clear: unity, dialogue, and democratic processes are essential for the nation’s growth and development. The hope is that the ongoing inter-party dialogue will mark the beginning of a new chapter in South Sudan’s journey towards building a better future for all its citizens.
