CENTRAL EQUATORIA GOVERNOR AUGUSTINO JADALLA MAKES MAJOR CHANGES IN JUBA CITY LEADERSHIP, NEW MAYOR APPOINTED

In a significant development for Juba City, Central Equatoria Governor Augustino Jadalla Wani has announced the dismissal of Mayor Flora Gabriel Modi and the appointment of Johnson Swaka Nginsak as the new Mayor.

The abrupt reshuffling also saw the removal of all three Deputy Mayors from their positions. Mogga Franco Wani, Thiik Thiik Mayardit, and Juma Diyo were relieved of their duties as deputy mayors for administration and finance, social services, and environment and waste management, respectively.

However, no replacements for the deputy mayor positions have been announced, leaving the city awaiting further updates on its leadership structure.

In response to his dismissal, Hon. Thiik Mayardit, former Deputy Mayor, expressed gratitude towards Governor Jadalla, stating, “With the news of my relief this evening, I want to appreciate H.E. Gen. Augustino Jadalla Wani for the opportunity he gave me to continue as Deputy Mayor for Social Services in the Juba City Council after his appointment.”

Mayardit went on to praise Governor Jadalla for recognizing his potential and serving as a mentor throughout their working relationship. He also extended congratulations to the newly appointed Mayor, Johnson Swaka, while expressing readiness to support the governor’s administration should the opportunity arise in the future.
