President Kiir Expresses Sympathy After Devastating Fire at Konyo Konyo Market

In response to the distressing fire incident that erupted earlier today at Konyo Konyo Market in the capital, Juba, His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued a heartfelt statement expressing his concern and dismay over the significant damage caused to numerous shops and stores.

The fire, which broke out in the afternoon, left a trail of destruction, deeply affecting the livelihoods of local traders and business owners. In light of the unfortunate event, President Kiir extended his sympathies to those impacted, urging them to remain resilient during this challenging period.

“Today’s unfortunate incident is a stark reminder of the unpredictability of life and the importance of community strength,” said President Kiir in his statement. “I send my heartfelt sympathies to all those who have suffered losses due to this fire.”

In the aftermath of the blaze, the President has directed the Juba City Council and relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and to assess the extent of the damage.
