Azande Kingdom Commences Land Clearing for New Royal Palace in Yambio

The Azande Kingdom in Western Equatoria State has officially commenced the clearing of land for the foundation of its Royal Palace in Bazungwa, Yambio. 

At a ceremony held at the site, King Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue announced that this location will serve as the royal grounds. He urged the Azande people to prioritize agriculture in 2025, stressing the importance of food security for a prosperous kingdom.

Joseph Arkangelo Apai, Chairman of the 3rd Anniversary Committee and Head of Information, confirmed that all preparations for the upcoming events are complete. He announced that on February 7, the Azande people will engage in cultural and constitutional training sessions. Following this, a special session will be held for the ministers of the kingdom on February 8. The grand celebration will take place on February 9, starting with prayers, before the official laying of the foundation stone for the Royal Palace.

In a related message, Paramount Chief Mboribamu Renzu Tambura encouraged young people to refrain from wasting time on unproductive activities such as playing cards and dominoes. He urged them to engage in meaningful work that will enhance their lives. Additionally, he called upon the elders of the kingdom to mentor and support the youth in becoming responsible and hardworking members of the community.

During the celebration, the Azande people will proudly showcase their rich cultural heritage, featuring traditional food, attire, and lifestyle practices at the Royal Palace site in Bazungwa.
