In a move to enforce local regulations and ensure public safety, the Director of Public Order in Juba County has issued a stern warning to vendors operating in Kuburi Haboba Market. During a recent inspection, Mr. Samuel Pitia Wani announced that any vendor found selling goods on the road will have their merchandise confiscated permanently.

“We want to make it clear: if we seize your goods for violating this order, we will not return them,” Mr. Wani stated emphatically. He urged vendors to relocate their stalls back into the designated market area to avoid repercussions.

The announcement follows a series of inspections aimed at enforcing a local order prohibiting roadside vending. Major Joseph Beden Dominic, representing the office of the A/Commissioner of Police, underscored the importance of these measures in safeguarding citizens’ lives. “We are committed to implementing this ban not only to improve traffic flow but also to prevent potential accidents that could result in loss of life,” he asserted.

Additionally, Col. Joseph Ring Mading, Deputy Commander of Sector Five, echoed these sentiments, advising vendors to adhere to the regulations for their own safety. “Our role is to maintain law and order, and compliance with these directives is crucial to ensure your safety on the roads,” he stressed.

With enforcement efforts ramping up, vendors are urged to comply with the regulations to avoid potential loss and to contribute to a safer trading environment in Juba County.
