Governor Jacob Dollar Ruot Visits Baliet County to Support Affected Communities

Mr. Jacob Dollar Ruot, the Governor of Upper Nile State, made an official visit to Baliet County on Monday, following a tragic attack by SPLA-IO militia forces just two days prior.
The purpose of the Governor’s visit was to express condolences and show solidarity with families and communities mourning the loss of their loved ones during the violent incident. “I extend my deepest sympathy to the bereaved families,” Dollar remarked, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to peace, civilian protection, and justice.
During his visit, the Governor condemned the attack, calling it “an unacceptable act of violence against innocent civilians.” He urged the local population to remain calm and reject the cycle of revenge, instead advocating for collaboration in pursuit of peace and coexistence.
The Governor was joined by Deputy Governor Hon. Deng Akuei Kak, along with state ministers and senior government officials. Together, they engaged with local authorities, community leaders, and affected families to assess the situation and discuss immediate humanitarian and security needs.
The Government of Upper Nile State reiterated its determination to work closely with security agencies and partners to restore stability in Baliet County and ensure the safety of all citizens.
