Warrap State Governor Assumes Office Under Tree

In a symbolic gesture, Governor Kuol Muor Muor of Warrap State assumed his office under a tree at the Majak Amal General Secretariat. This decision comes as the current State Council of Ministers General Secretariat, which was constructed eleven years ago by former Minister of Physical Infrastructure Hon. Sabino Makana Akol, belongs to the Ministry of Corporative, Water and Rural Development.

Governor Kuol addressed the Ministers and staff at the General Secretariat, assuring them and the people of Warrap that he will continue to carry out his duties under the tree until the construction of a new General Secretariat begins. He emphasized that it is the collective responsibility of the people of Warrap State to work for the welfare of the state, as no one else will come and build it for them.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Minister of Information and Communications Hon. William Wol Mayom confirmed that Governor Kuol will be operating under the tree until construction begins on January 15th, 2024. 

The government of Warrap State, under the leadership of Governor Kuol Muor Muor, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sabina Investment Co. Ltd for the construction of the Council of Ministers General Secretariat at Majak Amal. The construction is set to officially begin on January 15th, 2024.

The first Council of Ministers meeting will take place on Friday, January 5th, 2024, also under the tree at Majak Amal. The allocated land for the Council of Ministers General Secretariat is 320/150 square meters and has been designated for this purpose since 2008.
