Archbishop Levels Grave Charges Against SSPDF for Brutal Actions in Kondokoro
Archbishop Dr. Paul Benjamin Yugusuk of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Central Equatoria Province, has made serious allegations against the South Sudan Defense Forces (SSPDF) regarding atrocities committed in Kondokoro.
In a heartfelt message delivered on behalf of the Central Equatoria Internal Province, he expressed his wishes for a happy new year but also highlighted the pain caused by the actions of the country’s defense forces.
During his address, Archbishop Yugusuk denounced the spirit of atrocities committed by the army and called for the immediate release of four chiefs and nineteen youths who are currently being held. He emphasized the importance of holding those responsible accountable for their actions and bringing them to justice.
“We call for the arrest of those who have committed atrocities and for them to be brought before the court of law,” Archbishop Yugusuk stated firmly.
He also extended his condolences to the victims and the Bari Community in Kondokoro, assuring them that God is just and will punish those who ordered and carried out these heinous acts.
Quoting Jeremiah 21:14, the Archbishop reminded everyone that the consequences of one’s actions will not go unnoticed. “But I will punish you according to the fruits of your doing,” he quoted, emphasizing the belief that divine justice will prevail.
These allegations made by Archbishop Dr. Paul Benjamin Yugusuk shed light on the ongoing issues of violence and human rights violations in South Sudan.
