In a surprising turn of events, the King of Azande Kingdom, Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue, has taken a bold stance by urging the community to shift their focus away from ceremonial music events and prioritize agriculture and food production instead.

During a press conference held in Yambio this week, the King emphasized the critical need for redirecting efforts towards agriculture. He stated, “Those selling alcohol should refrain from doing so in the morning and only open their shops in the evening,” signaling a call for a more productive use of time during the crucial farming season.

The King also discouraged unnecessary visits to family members, particularly during the rainy season, adding, “Any member who visits your household in the morning should be given a hoe as a sign of encouraging them to engage in agricultural activities.”

Recognizing the pivotal role of workforce engagement in farming, the King plans to hold discussions with the state government to establish designated times for workers to participate in cultivation activities.

To foster self-sustainability, the King urged business owners to start their own farms to ensure a consistent food supply for their families while maintaining business operations effectively.

Highlighting the necessity of balancing various pursuits with agricultural responsibilities, the King stressed the importance of active participation in food production activities by all community members to guarantee food security and self-reliance.

The King’s progressive approach seeks to promote a mindset shift towards a more sustainable and agriculturally-focused community, aligning with the broader goal of ensuring a prosperous and food-secure future for the Azande Kingdom.
