Central Equatoria State Leadership Reveals Ambitious Project for Road Construction and Rehabilitation in Juba

The top leadership in the Country, has announced a major project for the construction and rehabilitation of roads in Juba. 

The project was unveiled during a meeting led by the Governor of Central Equatoria on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, the Governor of Central Equatoria, expressed his excitement for the project. 

“Today is a great day for the people of South Sudan, especially the people of Central Equatoria. Juba is the image of South Sudan, and we want to inform our people that the government is indeed going to construct and rehabilitate some major roads,” He stated.

Governor Anthony also made an important announcement regarding the relocation of individuals who have built houses in road reserve areas. 

“I would like to announce that any individual who has built a house in a road reserve area has 72 hours to relocate because a committee has been formed to address this issue.” 

He further added, “We have observed that people have encroached on the roadside, and some have even created markets on the roads. This is unacceptable, and we are calling on them to relocate.” 

In order to ensure the success of the project, Governor Anthony emphasized that those who encroach on the roads and bring garbages to the area will face criminal charges. He urged all South Sudanese to keep Juba clean and green.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Presidential special Envoy Bol Mel, the National Minister of Finance, the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, and the National Minister of Roads and Bridges.
