Council of Ministers Passes National Youth Development Policy to Empower and Uplift the Youth

In a landmark decision aimed at empowering the country’s youth population, the Council of Ministers passed the National Youth Development Policy during a meeting chaired by H.E the President earlier today. The policy is set to unlock the potential of young people and provide them with opportunities for growth and development.

“This is a significant moment for our young generation as we pave the way for their future success and contribution to the nation,” stated H.E the President.

The National Youth Development Policy includes a comprehensive framework for youth empowerment, recognizing individuals between the ages of 15 to 35 as part of the youth demographic. It also emphasizes the promotion of national youth service and voluntarism, entrepreneurial upscaling, sports activities, and other crucial initiatives to support youth development.

Hon. Dr. Joseph Geng Akech, the Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed gratitude towards the Council and H.E the President for their support in passing the policy. He assured that the policy would be presented to Parliament for adoption, marking a significant step towards its effective implementation.
