Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Discusses South Sudan’s Foreign Policy
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Ramadan Mohammad Abdallah Goc, engaged in a fruitful interview on Tuesday with a group of media outlets from Uganda.
The press conference, held at the Ministry’s Press Room, aimed to shed light on South Sudan’s foreign relations and business opportunities. Representatives from prominent Ugandan media organizations, including The East African, Ugandan Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), KFM, Nile Post, UBC TV, New Vision, NTV Uganda, Capital FM, Umoja Online, and Daily Monitor Newspaper, conducted the interview.
During the interview, Hon. Ramadan provided a comprehensive overview of South Sudan’s foreign relations, emphasizing the strong bond between South Sudan and Uganda. He also discussed the upcoming elections scheduled to take place at the end of the interim period in 2024.
The Chairperson of the East African Community (EAC), H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, was recently on a peace mission to Rwanda and Burundi as part of the bloc’s efforts, and Hon. Ramadan further underscored South Sudan’s active engagement in the EAC.
The session also addressed the current instability in the Republic of Sudan, with South Sudan role in mediating the parties in the conflict.
Hon. Ramadan assured the journalists that South Sudan is a safe and secure destination for foreign investors. He emphasized that South Sudan welcomes nationals from the East African Community and beyond, encouraging investment and collaboration.

The media delegation was accompanied by a representative from the South Sudan Embassy in Kampala, Uganda, as part of a three-day visit to foster bilateral ties.
