In an exciting development for football fans, El Merriekh FC Bentiu has confirmed their safe arrival in Juba on Sunday. The team, who emerged as the champions of the Bentiu Local Football Association, will be competing in the upcoming South Sudan National Cup.

Speaking upon their arrival, the club’s communication officer stated that the reason for their presence in Juba is to camp and prepare for the highly anticipated national cup, which is set to kick off on January 15, 2024.

El Merriekh FC Bentiu will be facing tough competition from teams such as St. Mary FC (Yambio), Super Star FC (Bor), Volcano FC (Torit), Jamus FC (Juba), and many others in Zone A of the tournament.

The decision to camp in Juba is strategic, as the club aims to adapt to the local weather and playing conditions, which have proven to be challenging for teams coming from outside the capital. By familiarizing themselves with the environment, El Merriekh FC Bentiu hopes to perform at their best during the matches.

As the first team to arrive in Juba for the South Sudan National Cup, Merriekh Bentiu is setting a precedent and showing their dedication to preparing on time for the prestigious tournament.
