In a historic moment for Ezo County, Commissioner Hon. Abel has officially inaugurated the Ezo Airstrip, marking a significant milestone for the community’s development. The local residents united to clear the land, paving the way for this crucial infrastructure project.

The Ezo Airstrip welcomed its first flight on Thursday morning, with a UNMISS aircraft landing safely, heralding a new era of connectivity for the region.

“We assure the people of Ezo County that we are committed to enhancing the airstrip to ensure safe operations for all flights,” declared the Hon. Commissioner.

During his speech, the Commissioner vowed to collaborate with partners and aviation companies to elevate the airstrip to international standards. His vision includes attracting airlines such as Kush, Caravan, and MAF to establish direct routes between Ezo and Juba.

This initiative is poised to stimulate economic growth in the county and raise living standards, leveraging Ezo’s strategic position at the crossroads of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Central African Republic (CAR).

Encouraging perseverance and optimism, the Commissioner called upon the residents of Ezo and the entire nation to embrace the future with hope.

Hundreds of community members rallied together to create space for the airstrip, demonstrating a collective effort to facilitate air travel accessibility to and from Ezo.
