Female Journalist Network and UN Women Host Two-Day Training on Public Speaking

The Female Journalists Network (FJN), in collaboration with UN Women’s South Sudan country office, recently hosted a two-day training program focused on public speaking, press release writing, and media interviews.
At the conclusion of the training, Regina Ossa Lullo, Director of the National Ministry of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare, emphasized the importance of knowledge and collaboration as women prepare for leadership roles in various institutions. “Participants should take what they have learned over these two days and put it into practice,” Regina stated.
Zahra Said, Chairperson of the Female Journalist Network (FJN), encouraged trainees to leverage their newly acquired skills to make a meaningful impact in society. “It is up to us to improve our collaborative efforts,” she said, expressing gratitude to UN Women for their continued support of women’s initiatives in the country.
Dr. Rukaya Muhammad, Deputy Country Representative of UN Women South Sudan and acting Country Representative, stressed the significance of public speaking for leaders. She urged participants in the political sphere to sharpen their skills for not only their benefit but for the improvement of their constituents as well. “Seize any opportunity that comes your way to achieve your goals and dreams,” Dr. Rukaya advised. “Always articulate your thoughts and collaborate with media houses to build your confidence.”
The training brought together members of parliament, government officials, civil society organizations, women-led organizations, youth, and journalists, fostering an environment of interaction and learning.
