Government Promises Action to Address Insecurity in Greater Pibor
In response to the recent tragic events in Greater Pibor, the Deputy Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Dr. Jacob Maiju Korok, has reassured the community of government efforts to address the issue of insecurity in the area.
During a gathering at Jebel Boma County, Dr. Korok condemned the heinous attacks by rebels that have caused terror and loss of life in the region. The recent ambush in the raat area that claimed the lives of Commissioner Jeremiah Lothiboi, Deputy SSPDF Commander Col. Kaka Thombrum, and 13 others has left the community devastated.
The Chief administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, Lokoli Ame Bullen, emphasized the urgency of national intervention to ensure the safety of civilians, stressing that the ongoing security challenges require immediate attention.
Member of Parliament in the Council of States and Chairperson of the Murle Community, Kennedy Gain Ngare, urged authorities to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice, holding them accountable for their actions.
As the community mourns the loss of lives and grapples with the ongoing insecurity, the government has pledged to take necessary measures to restore peace and stability in Greater Pibor. Efforts are underway to address the root causes of the conflict and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents in the area.
