Governor Adil Spearheads Meeting to Strengthen Local Governance Structures

Governor Adil Anthony of Central Equatoria State has taken a proactive approach to enhancing local governance structures and promoting peace and security in the region. 

In a meeting held on Monday, January 15th 2024, at the State Government General Secretariat, Governor Adil called for an expanded direct interface with senior local government administrative officers to address concerns and develop effective strategies.

The Acting Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agency, Hon. Wayi Goodwil Edward, confirmed the resolutions reached during the meeting. 

These resolutions include providing unequivocal support to administrative officers to enhance their capacity and fulfill their designated mandate. 

Additionally, there will be an expedited promotion of local government administrative officers and the implementation of robust general transfers across the state.

The commitment to reorganize and beautify the city was also reaffirmed, with a focus on improving infrastructure and services. This will not only enhance the quality of life for residents but also contribute to the overall stability and development of the state. 

Furthermore, efforts will be made to facilitate the return and settlement of people in restive areas, promoting stability and peace.

With the 2024 General Elections on the horizon, preparations will be intensified, and grassroots communities will be engaged to ensure their participation. Political leaders, including County Commissioners and Mayors, have been urged to work harmoniously with administrative officers to deliver essential services to the people.

Governor Adil emphasized the importance of cooperation between political leaders and administrative officers to ensure smooth working relationships and effective service delivery.
