Hon. Atong Recognized as Best Serving Minister of the Year 2023 in Jonglei State
Jonglei – In a prestigious ceremony held on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk, received the Public Excellence Award for being the Best Serving Minister of the Year 2023. The award, issued by INTREPID-South Sudan, a prominent Civil Society Organization, recognizes the outstanding contributions made by Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk to the people of Jonglei State.
Bol Deng Bol, the Executive Director of INTREPID-South Sudan, expressed his congratulations to Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk, highlighting the rigorous evaluation process that led to her selection.
“Three determinants were considered in arriving at this decision: the tangibility of Ministries work, public perception, and the Ministry’s strategic plans,” Bol explained.
The selection committee placed particular emphasis on Hon. Atong efforts to reduce reliance on NGOs and international partners in providing public services. Her work demonstrated a commitment to maximizing the use of local revenues, including innovative initiatives such as fundraising, to ensure sustainable development within the state.
“We are pleased to recognize the dedication and hard work of Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk and the entire government team,” Bol remarked.
“We value their efforts in serving the people of Jonglei State. While the 2023 category focused on the Best Serving Minister, we plan to introduce two categories for the 2024 edition.”
The Public Service Excellence Award program was established by INTREPID-South Sudan with the aim of acknowledging and celebrating exceptional work in governmental institutions.
The organization seeks to shed light on the positive impact made by individuals who often go unnoticed in their respective roles.
The awards ceremony was graced by the presence of several esteemed guests, including Governor Denay Jock Chagor, who personally presented the award to Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk.
