Inter-School Sports Competition Tournament Launched for Secondary Schools in Juba

Central Equatoria State Ministry of Education and Instructions, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports, has announced the launch of an inter-school sports competition tournament for sixteen secondary schools in Juba.
The tournament will feature nine government schools and seven private schools, all coming together to showcase their athletic talents and team spirit.
During the official announcement, the State Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sport, Hon. Rita Dominic Jad, emphasized the importance of sports as a co-curricular activity in schools. She highlighted the role of sports in uniting youths towards common goals in nation-building and encouraged students and head teachers to prioritize sports programs in education.
Hon. Ciricio Zakaria Ladu, the Minister of Education in Central Equatoria State, reiterated the significance of sports in fostering peace and harmony among students. He urged students not to engage in conflicts during matches and assured that the ministry is committed to promoting various sports activities beyond just football, catering to all genders in the state.
Representing the head teachers, Ben Tombe from Supiri Secondary School called for collective effort among school administrators to integrate sports into the curriculum across all schools in Central Equatoria State.
The launch of the inter-school sports competition tournament signifies a positive step towards promoting sportsmanship, unity, and talent development among students in the region.
