International Community Condemns Violence in Tambura, South Sudan

Leading international organizations and the local community have united in condemning the recent wave of violence in Tambura County, South Sudan. The killing of civilians, abduction of individuals, and disappearance of a Catholic priest have sparked widespread outrage and calls for immediate action.

In response to these heinous acts, Morris Daud Fadul Abugeid, Secretary General of Western Equatoria Youth Association, expressed deep concern, stating, “We are deeply saddened by the senseless violence that has taken place in Tambura. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families during this difficult time.”

The State government, the Government of South Sudan, IGAD, AU, EAC, UN agencies, and various non-governmental organizations have been urged to intervene swiftly to restore peace and security to the region. 

“It is crucial that all stakeholders come together to address the root causes of this conflict and hold those responsible accountable,” emphasized Abugeid.

Standing in solidarity with the people of Tambura, the Western Equatoria Youth Association is calling for a peaceful resolution through dialogue and cooperation. “Only through a concerted effort towards justice and reconciliation can we hope to achieve lasting peace in the region,” noted Abugeid.
