JAMUS Football Holds Zanzibar’s KVZ FC to a 1-1 Draw in Mapinduzi Cup

In an exciting match at the Mapinduzi Cup, JAMUS Football Club from South Sudan held Zanzibar’s KVZ FC to a 1-1 draw. The tournament, which is a top knockout football competition in Zanzibar, was created by the Zanzibar Football Federation to commemorate Zanzibar’s Revolution Day.
JAMUS FC was invited to participate in this year’s edition after Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA) withdrew due to tight fixtures in the Star Time Uganda Premier League. This marks the first time a team from South Sudan has taken part in the tournament, which usually features Zanzibari and Tanzanian clubs, with occasional invitations extended to Kenyan and Ugandan teams.
The match ended with a scoreline of 1-1, with Yousif Marshal scoring for JAMUS FC through a penalty kick in the 45th minute. The result sets up an exciting clash between JAMUS FC and Young Africans Sports Club from Tanzania on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, as their second match of the tournament. Football fans can expect an intense battle between these two teams as they aim to secure a victory and progress further in the Mapinduzi Cup.
