Mary Boyoi, a popular South Sudanese female artist, has made headlines recently after announcing her decision to attend church services for the first time in over a decade. The catalyst for this change of heart was a sermon delivered by a pastor in Juba, who preached about Boyoi’s latest song, titled ‘Delete and Block’.

The news of Boyoi’s decision has sparked a heated debate among her fans and the public. Many are curious about her motives for suddenly embracing religion, while others applaud her for seeking spiritual guidance.

Boyoi took to her official Facebook page to address the controversy, posting a message that read, “If any kind of love becomes a problem, Delete Block with a capital letter. Otherwise, Team Mary Boyoi will help you delete and block them.”

In her post, Boyoi explained that her visit to the church is not only to ask for God’s forgiveness but also to contribute financially to support the church, particularly its orphanage.

She also expressed her intention to donate her song to the church, believing that its lyrics will help people delete and block any negativity in their lives.

“It’s time for me to serve God with meaningful songs,” Boyoi declared. “Yes, youth, please delete block all tribalism around us. Amen.”

This unexpected turn in Boyoi’s life has left her fans and the public eagerly awaiting her next move. Will her newfound faith influence her music? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, it is clear that Boyoi is determined to use her platform to spread positivity and combat societal issues such as tribalism.

As South Sudan’s music industry continues to evolve, Boyoi’s decision to embrace religion may inspire other artists to explore their spiritual sides. Whether this marks a permanent change in Boyoi’s career or simply a personal journey remains to be seen.
