Over 30 Youth Successfully Graduate from Six-Month Leadership Program, Paving the Way for a Brighter Future in South Sudan

In a remarkable ceremony on April 23rd, 2024, more than 30 young leaders graduated from the POLA-LAB Project of SPACE after completing an intensive six-month leadership program that focused on imparting essential skills and values necessary for effective leadership in South Sudan.

Addressing the graduates during the ceremony, Robert Antipas Guya, the Executive Director of Space organization, emphasized the significance of the program in fostering unity among the youth from all ten states of the country. He praised the graduates for their dedication and encouraged them to utilize the knowledge and skills they had acquired to bring positive change to their communities.

Gatmai Kawine Koang, representing the Chairperson of Cohort 4, shared his thoughts on the transformative journey the graduates had undergone during the program. He highlighted the importance of the invaluable knowledge gained and urged his peers to work towards building the South Sudan they aspire to see, emphasizing that it is their collective responsibility.

The POLA-LAB Project has emerged as a beacon of hope for the youth of South Sudan, providing them with a platform to cultivate leadership qualities and democratic values. The graduation of the 4th Cohort signifies a significant milestone in the empowerment of young leaders who are poised to contribute positively to the nation’s development.

The success of the program would not have been possible without the support of partners such as Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Uganda & and the Government of the Republic of South Sudan, who have played a crucial role in enabling the smooth implementation of the project.

With the graduation of over 30 dynamic and motivated young leaders, South Sudan is set to witness a generation of changemakers who are committed to upholding democratic principles and working towards a brighter future for their nation.
