The National Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) Workshop wrapped up in Juba yesterday evening.
In his closing statements, the President of SSFA, Gen. Augustino Madout, congratulated the participants on completing the training. He emphasized that the workshop’s goal is to enhance the capabilities of local football associations’ members with more advanced approaches aligning with FIFA and CAF standards to elevate the LFAs and their clubs’ standards.
Mr. Augustino underscored the significance of the Club Licensing Online Platform for local football associations in endeavors to professionalize clubs and raise the football playing standard.
He encouraged the participants to serve as ambassadors of SSFA, CAF, and FIFA at their respective LFAs and disseminate the knowledge to club management.
The Secretary General of SSFA, Mr. Victor Lawrence, expressed his enthusiasm as part of the SSFA administration for organizing the workshop aimed at professionalizing football.
He highlighted that the criteria for Club Licensing are fundamental for any operational club, emphasizing that clubs must be legally registered, possess a headquarters, facilities such as a training ground, financial resources, and human capital to be recognized as clubs.
Mr. Lawrence urged the participants to apply the knowledge gained at the club level, emphasizing that CLOP would streamline the licensing process, hence the need for secretaries to implement it at their LFAs.
Representing the CAF Instructors, Miss. Doreen Nabwire clarified that Club Licensing is not punitive; rather, the program aims to enhance the game’s development by focusing on infrastructure development, assisting clubs in organizing and conducting their competitions effectively, and aiding clubs in revenue generation.
She encouraged the participants to embrace Club Licensing and collaborate closely with SSFA to implement it at the club level.
