Suspected witchcraft practitioner, Achai Wiir, detained by National Security Service

The National Security Service (NSS) in the capital city of Juba has apprehended Achai Wiir, a fugitive accused of witchcraft. This arrest comes after her father’s failed attempt to seek help from Vice President Abdelbagi at his residence.
A couple of weeks ago, Achai Wiir, a prominent businesswoman, refused to appear before the J1 Security apparatus to testify against the claims made by Sora Jima. Despite citing illness as the reason for her absence, suspicions have arisen due to the timing and circumstances surrounding her hospitalization.
Concerns have been raised by South Sudanese regarding the national security’s ability to protect President Kiir and the nation as a whole.
Many citizens have accused the authorities of remaining silent on the matter, leading to questions about whether ethnic and political influences within the National Security Services have compromised their duty.
Following the reported arrest of Achai Wiir, the National Security Service is still actively searching for other individuals involved in the suspected crime.
The saga between Achai Wiir and Sora Jima has exposed vulnerabilities within the South Sudan system, prompting calls for authorities to address these issues and ensure that justice is served.
