Vice President of South Sudan Meets League of Arab States Ambassador to Enhance Cooperation for Economic Growth

The Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, H.E Gen. Taban Deng Gai, convened with the ambassador of the League of Arab States mission in South Sudan, H.E. Mohieldin Salim Ahmed, on Tuesday, 22/10/2024.

During the meeting, H.E Gen. Taban Deng Gai underscored the critical nature of collaboration between South Sudan and the Arab League across various sectors to advance economic growth within the nation. Welcoming the ambassador, he emphasized the need for mutual cooperation to drive prosperity and development in South Sudan.

H.E Amb. Mohieldin Salim Ahmed conveyed the League of Arab States’ unwavering commitment to supporting the government of South Sudan in realizing its developmental objectives. Stressing the importance of joint efforts in infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, and airports, he highlighted the pivotal role such projects play in the nation’s progress.

In discussions aimed at fostering increased investments and trade, both leaders deliberated on strategies to attract more investments into South Sudan and strengthen commercial ties with Arab League states. They acknowledged the necessity of creating platforms such as trade and business forums to facilitate private sector engagement and explore new investment prospects.
