Governor Jadalla Leads Efforts to Enhance State Security in Central Equatoria

Juba –  In a proactive move to address pressing security concerns, Governor Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani took charge of the 6th State Security Meeting in Central Equatoria State. The meeting, held at the State Secretariat, brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues affecting the state.

Hon. Leon Abe Brown, the State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agency, shared insights with the media following the meeting, highlighting the various security challenges discussed. These included the rising number of street children, drug-related problems, land disputes, and issues pertaining to local drivers’ and butchers’ associations.

Notable resolutions emerged from the meeting, including the decision to review the operations of drivers’ and commercial motorcycle associations, as well as the registration process of the Butchers Union within the state. Additionally, a dedicated team will be formed to tackle the issue of land grabbing, underscoring the government’s commitment to upholding property rights.

While addressing the current security landscape, Hon. Abe reassured the public that the situation in the state remained stable, despite isolated incidents of abductions reported in certain areas such as Yei and Lainya counties. Authorities are actively investigating these cases attributed to an unidentified armed group.

Governor Jadalla’s leadership in steering these security discussions reflects a proactive approach towards safeguarding the welfare and safety of Central Equatoria State residents.
